Dear Parents, Carers and Children,

I am delighted to extend a warm welcome to you from our fabulous school.  Here at Long Wittenham, we do everything the Long Wittenham Way, from our learning to playing and our overall behaviour.  We are a school steeped in history and I am proud to say that I have been Headteacher here since September 2016.

Our school is currently thriving and basking in the glory of excellent end of Phonics Screening Check, KS1 and KS2 results in 2019.  Our collaboration with other schools in the Didcot partnership as well as other colleagues ensures that our forward-thinking nature is of huge value to us as a small village school.  Here at Long Wittenham we care about each and every child and the progress they make.  We are passionate about ensuring that every one of them does their very best to enjoy success and benefit from a rich cultural capital.  We see this as our privilege and responsibility to provide them with the very best opportunities we can.

We are a Church of England School and are very proud of our strong links with St Mary’s Church in the village.  Our core Christian values are compassion, resilience and trust, and these coupled with our school vision of ‘caring for others and courageously striving for excellence (Luke 10:25; Joshua 1:9) underpin all that we do both in school and in our wider community.

Please come and visit our school – you will gain a huge insight into how we learn and behave as well as how our values and learning behaviours are embedded in all that we do.

We very much look forward to welcoming you into our community and know you will be impressed by what you see.

Wish warmest wishes,

Alison Bellingham
