Headteacher’s message

January 2022

I am delighted to have joined the team at Long Wittenham School and I have already been made to feel very welcome.

Our school vision is Caring For Others And Courageously Striving For Excellence and this underpins all aspects of school life. We offer an ambitious curriculum that supports our vision, enabling children to develop as effective learners and compassionate global citizens and has a clear focus on personal development.

Children and adults alike enjoy the beautiful rural setting and there are lots of opportunities for pupils to be outdoors taking part in Forest School and sports activities.

Our pupils care for each other, are enthusiastic about making the world a better place and love to have fun.  We recently achieved the UNICEF Bronze Rights Respecting Schools Award and have an active Eco Council and School Council system; these empower our children to feel they can and do make a difference every day.

Long Wittenham school is very special place – if you are considering a school for your child, please do make an appointment; I’d welcome the opportunity to offer you a personal tour!
