Note for Golden Eagles Parents and Children:

I have added some phonics and 4x and 8x table work on Purple Mash for the children in my Golden Eagles group. The phonics work is a series of cloze procedures involving the phonics ay,ou; wh,ph; and all the split diagraphs. The children are familiar with these diagraphs, but it is good for them to keep recognising and applying them in their work. The children could also re-write the words using different colours, splitting them up using sound buttons, write their own sentences or use them in a longer piece of writing of their choice.

The times table work is to practice facts that they are becoming familiar with. The children could also write out the times tables, practise counting in steps of 4 and 8, and playing simple games with these facts – bingo is a good one. The children will need some of the answers written on a sheet and as you test them, they cross out the answers until all are crossed out, they then get to call out BINGO!

I am available through Classdojo messaging to answer any questions about any of your learning tasks. If necessary, I can provide additional challenge tasks.

Thank you, Sarah Westen
