Message from the Headteacher
I have been so impressed by the way that our new starters have so quickly become part of the school community! Asylum Welcome interpreters have been a tremendous help; members of staff have really gone above and beyond to find out about good practice, provide bespoke language lessons and put in extra hours to plan and make resources; and our existing pupils have been outstanding!
In other news, we are very grateful indeed to the PTA for providing funding for us to purchase class sets of books for next term’s English lessons. Thank you to all the parents who volunteered and supported fund raising events last year to make this possible.
Thank you to everyone who supported our Harvest Appeal 2021; our collection for Christian Aid raised £35.59 and more than 150 packages and tins currently in the church are ready to be delivered to the Emergency Food Bank in Wallingford by Rev. Wignall. Special thanks to Values Ambassador Tei Jai for his skillful leadership of the service.
It’s been another great week at Long Wittenham School!
Warm regards, Gillian Seymour
