Message from the Headteacher,

Thank you to all of you who made it to our curriculum meetings. We will be sending out the term overview and PowerPoints today.

Learning Highlights:

  • Owls class have been exploring their feelings using The Colour Monster. They have also been exploring colour in lots of different ways, including making colour wheel collages and mixing colours.
  • Parrots class have been learning about The Good Witch and have been busy writing character descriptions about her. They have also been learning about the properties of materials in science.
  • Eagles class have also been writing character descriptions but theirs have been based on The Stone Age Boy. In history they have been learning how advances in agriculture changed the lives of Stone Age people. In maths they have covered representing, ordering and comparing numbers.
  • Penguins class have been studying Eric by Shaun Tan. They have planned to write their own chapter about Eric’s Visit to the Zoo. In maths they have been using the bar model approach to help solve problems, including those involving shape and space.

In order for us to provide the very best education we have invested in CPD for all staff members. This week Miss Clarke has started her forest school training and Mrs Williamson has attended training for those new to leading RE in a church school.

Don’t forget it is the Long WIttenham Fun run this weekend and the BBQ will be raising money for the school.

We are a nut free school.

Families please note that we are strictly a nut free school. Please ensure that no nut products are brought into school or included in packed lunches (even on school trips). Please also ensure that no nut products are consumed within the school grounds at any time of day. Thank you.
