Message from the Headteacher,
Following an internal promotion this week I am pleased to inform you that Miss Clarke will formally be supporting me in the role of assistant headteacher in addition to her class teaching responsibilities.
Learning highlights this week:
- Owls Class have been reading Mr Wolf’s Pancakes and writing character descriptions and speech bubbles.
- Parrots Class have been working on their art project inspired by feathers. They have all been really creative, producing fantastic 3-dimensional feathers using paper craft.
- In Science, Eagles Class have continued learning about forces and newton meters. In geography they have been learning about Greece and enjoyed making and eating Greek salad.
- Penguins Class went into the woods to role play being Robin Hood’s outlaws and enjoyed a game of Ambush. They have also produced some fantastic art based on the work of Kandinsky.
We were really proud of all of Penguins Class for showing such a great attitude towards Bikeability. They were mature and respectful and showed real determination and perseverance. Please remember to look carefully at the back of your child’s certificate to see what they need to work on next to continue to develop their road safety awareness.
7th February is Safer Internet Day. The children will be learning about internet safety in their classes and we have attached a separate letter with ideas for home support. Please don’t forget to look at the NSPPC zoom sessions for parents around online safety.
On Friday 10th February the PTA are holding a wear what you love day and a cake sale. Please send your child to school in clothes they enjoy wearing and bring in cakes for the sale after school or a donation. What a lovely finish to the half-term.
A big thank you from the all the children to the family who kindly donated new balls for the playground. The children have loved playing with them.
Have a lovely weekend.
Gillian
