Message from the Headteacher,

We really enjoyed seeing everyone’s fantastic costumes for world book day and hope the children enjoy using their £1 book voucher. Thank you to School Council who have worked hard to run the book sale and raised a massive £65.

This week year 6 learnt all about first aid and CPR through the IMPS programme. We were very proud of the mature attitude the children showed.

Next week, we have a group of scientists coming from Nuclear Waste Services to deliver a STEM morning for each class. The focus for the workshops will be as follows:

Owls- squash and squeeze, jump and jiggle
Parrot- bridges and changing in states and project management. Eagles- Rocks and Forces
Penguins- Changing states and project management.

Learning highlights this week:

  • Owls Class have worked hard to retell the story of Jasper’s Beanstalk. They have also enjoyed looking at books by Eric Carle and have made art work inspired by him.
  • Parrots Class have been exploring different jumps in PE and designing an eat well plate in DT.
  • Eagles Class have learnt about Boudica and how we know what she looked like. They have been learning about equivalent lengths in maths and setting descriptions in English.
  • Penguins Class have continued learning about The Highwayman and have been learning about crime and punishment in the early modern period.

    Have a lovely weekend,
    Gillian Fraser
