Message from the Headteacher,

Thank you to everyone who supported the travelling book fayre. Due to the weather the second hand uniform has been postponed till next Friday (hopefully it will be dry).

Learning Highlights:

  • Owls and Parrots class had an exciting visit from a fire engine and it was lovely to see Pre-School coming along to have a look as well.
  • Owls Class have been reading the Monkey Puzzle. They have been learning to retell the story and to identify adjectives and nouns
  • Parrots Class have continued enjoying learning about the GreatFire of London and learning about the properties of materials inScience. They also learnt about baptism.
  • Eagles Class have been learning about the difference between theStone Age and the Bronze Age and what evidence exists to inform our thinking about theis period of time. In English they have been working on vocabulary choices for a recount.
  • Penguins Class have been focusing on choosing efficient calculation methods and have been focusing on descriptive writing in English and most excitingly they had their first whole class brass lessons.

It’s been another busy week for our staff professional development. All the staff had more Real PE training, I have attended the Oxfordshire Curriculum Conference and New to Headteacher training from the ODBE (Oxford Diocesan Board of Education) and Miss Greenaway has attended SENCo training. In addition to this I met our new support partners from both OCC and ODBE to plan our support for the year. Mrs. Sienkiewicz has also met with our maths advisor.

Have a lovely weekend!

We have a new page for upcoming Key Dates.
