Newsletter – 4th February

Message from the Headteacher,

It’s been another busy week here at Long Wittenham School. Owls’ class have enjoyed trapping The Gingerbread Man and then writing some exciting stories about it. Parrots have been basing their learning around the book Swim, Shark, Swim and have learnt to sequence the story. Eagles have really enjoyed learning about electricity and have some exciting experiments planned for next week. In Penguins they have researched and made some fantastic models of rivers around the word.

Next week we have a talented local artist coming into school to run a whole school art day. The children will work together to make a fantastic display for the school hall celebrating the village.

It was exciting to attend the Parish Council meeting this week and hear all the plans for the village and also to see the wealth of support of the school which exists within the village. It really is a very special place.

Again, it was lovely to get to meet and chat with more parents and to hear positive feedback about how the school has changed since they last looked around the school pre-COVID.

Have a lovely weekend. Warm regards,
Gillian Fraser
