Message from the Headteacher,
We have had a fantastic first week back. The children have come back with great enthusiasm and it’s been lovely seeing the owls settle into school life.
This week we were visited by Open the Book, a group of storytellers that come into schools to retell Bible Stories. This week they told the creation story from Genesis. The children loved the puppets and the props that brought the story to life.
Learning Highlights:
- Owl’s Class have been reading the story It’s a George Thing and learning about themselves. As well as ensuring all the children settle beautifully into school Miss Clarke has also been busy completing the statutory baseline assessments.
- Parrots Class have been exploring how characters from fairy tales have ended up in their classroom. They have also been learning about place value.
- Eagles Class have started learning about life in the Stone Age and also had lots of fun in science making edible soil.
- Penguins Class have begun learning about Martin Luther and his role in the reformation in Europe. They have also been learning about materials and their properties.Today children from Penguins and Eagles visited the church to sign the book of condolences and light candles on behalf of all the children in the school.
