Our new notice board

9th March, 2021

Amongst the excitement of the returning to school on the 8th of March, in full fancy dress to mark World Book Day, there was a surpise to greet children and parents at the school gate – a brand new notice board! Not just any old notice board, but one carved with drawings from our children!

The notice board was made by Long Wittenham resident Simon Clements, with help from Brian Hampstead.

The notice board was filled with images of parrots, eagles, penguins and owls, representing the classes in our school, and carvings include insects, bugs, worms – all inspired by our love of Forest School and dedication to the outdoor world and our rural setting.

The notice board was funded by the PTA, with generous input from Simon and Brian, material costs and project management by Catherine Harrison and family.
