Admissions

We encourage any prospective parents to visit the school and meet the Headteacher who can show you around and let you see our school in its everyday capacity. Please contact the school office to arrange an appointment.

Starting school for the first time

If your child is starting school for the first time, you must follow the Oxfordshire admissions process. This process, including the deadline for application, is set out in the Starting School booklet that is usually available in the autumn term each year.

Joining school later

If you wish your child to join our school after the initial admissions process, you should contact the school office to see if there are spaces available in the appropriate year group. If spaces are available, you should make an appointment to visit the school and the process is then managed by Oxfordshire Local Authority as above.

Admission for children with disabilities

If your child has special needs it is important to ensure that you get all the support and assistance you and your child need. We pride ourselves on being an inclusive school and would encourage parents to visit us as well as contacting the County Council Admissions team for further guidance as early as possible.

Transfer to secondary school

Children at Long Wittenham transfer to local secondary schools in Abingdon, Didcot and Wallingford, as well as further afield. We work closely with our local secondary schools to ensure a smooth transition at the end of Year 6 and children will have opportunities to visit their chosen school during their final year with us.
