Our projects
We will be sharing ‘knowledge organisers’ for each project via email. In these you will find all of the information and skills that we are going to learn in school. It would be fantastic if you could help us at home too! At the end of every week we have class quizzes to make sure our knowledge is improving all of the time. We focus on our learning behaviours to help us by being aspirational, curious, determined, independent and community-minded in all that we do.
This year, our curriculum is following Cycle A on the long term plan. That means our projects are:
Autumn term | Spring term | Summer term |

Superheroes | Wriggle and Crawl | Land Ahoy! |
Summer Term
This term our project is Land Ahoy! We’ll be navigating our way around RNLI life boat stations across the UK and on our way, finding out about the geography of the United Kingdom. The children will learn who Grace Darling was and her significance. We’ll be exploring the 5 oceans and finding out the places Captain Cook visited. The children will be researching famous pirates, what life was like on board a pirate ship and designing and making a pirate flag. Finally, the children will explore materials that sink or float and record their findings.
Teddy and Freya have drawn boats and labelled the materials they are made from. Teddy and Freya have drawn boats and labelled the materials they are made from. Mickey and Joshua have been investigating materials that float and sink. Mickey and Joshua have been investigating materials that float and sink. Louie made a boat out of Lego and tested its floating ability. He concluded he would not sail in a boat made of Lego. Poppy made a model Captain Cook’s ship and labelled the different parts.
