As we wrap up another exciting term at Long Wittenham Primary, we wanted to share some highlights and celebrations from our wonderful school community.

Official Joining of Ridgeway Education Trust

On 1st November, we officially joined the Ridgeway Education Trust. This exciting development opens up new opportunities for collaboration, sharing resources, and enhancing the overall educational experience for our students. Our collaboration within the trust continues to grow, particularly in the areas of mathematics, safeguarding, writing and PE. As the network of primary schools expands, we are dedicated to providing comprehensive support to ensure the success and well-being of every child.

Owls and Parrots Class – Busy, Busy Bethlehem Production

Congratulations to Owls and Parrots for their outstanding performance in “Busy, Busy Bethlehem”. The festive production showcased the talents of our young actors and left the audience full of holiday spirit.

Magical Christingle

Our Christingle celebration brought the entire school and community together in a magical event. We were thrilled to see so many parents and community members join us in marking the festive season. Your support and presence truly make these occasions special.

Christmas Craft Event – A Heartfelt Thank You

We extend our gratitude to all who contributed to the success of our Christmas craft event. Your dedication and enthusiasm created a lovely atmosphere and the children thoroughly enjoyed choosing and wrapping gifts for their parents.

Penguins and Eagles Trip to Ashmolean Workshop

Ancient Egypt and Ancient Greece: Our Keystage 2 children had a fantastic educational experience at the Ashmolean Museum, immersing themselves in the rich history of Ancient Egypt and Ancient Greece. The trip provided a hands-on workshop, allowing our young historians to engage with artifacts and gain a deeper understanding of these fascinating civilizations.

Key Stage 2 Geography Quiz

The interactive Geography Quiz was a huge success! Our students enjoyed a hands-on experience and witnessed a world map drawn in real time. It was a fantastic way for them to learn more about world geography and history.

Swimming Success for Penguins Class

Penguins Class made excellent progress in their swimming sessions this term. We’re proud of their achievements and look forward to Eagles Class diving into the pool next term. Well done to all our budding swimmers!

PTA Wreath Making Workshop and School Pantomime – Sinbad the Sailor

Our PTA hosted a delightful wreath making workshop that was well attended and filled with festive cheer. Additionally, the whole school enjoyed the pantomime performance of “Sinbad the Sailor”, thanks to the support and dedication of our wonderful parent community.

As we head into the Christmas break, we wish you all a joyous holiday season filled with warmth, laughter and special moments with loved ones. Thank you for your ongoing support, and we look forward to welcoming everyone back for an exciting new term in the new year!
