Message from the Headteacher

Thank you to Miss McLachlan, the School Council and everyone who supported the Children In Need fundraiser today – it was a great community event! We’ll update you with the total raised on Monday.

Thank you for all the creative entries to our Anti-bullying Poster Competition; our Values Ambassadors found it very difficult to choose just one winner from each year group! We are grateful to everyone who took part and we’ll be displaying all the posters in school. During this Anti-bullying Week, there have been daily Anti-bullying activities, and by the end of next week, children in KS1 and KS2 will have taken part in the annual OCC Anti-bullying Survey. We’ll report back on the results of this in due course.

On other news, we’ve completed an audit for the School Games Mark and look forward to participating in a range of competitions in the spring and summer terms. I am very grateful to Mrs. Eltham and Mrs. Winterbourne, who have taken on the role of school sports coordinators to promote sports and physical activity in school. We’re all looking forward to some friendly rivalry as pupils participate in inter-house events!

Thanks to governor Tom Richardson’s hard work behind the scenes, we have been awarded a grant to purchase musical instruments. Miss Jenkins has been liaising music specialist Emma Davies to put together an order. This will focus on the provision of instruments for class lessons.

As you’ll see from the upcoming events listed here, we’re busy planning our Christmas activities; the autumn term seems to have flown by!

Warm regards, Gillian Seymour
